2013 Turnout
We had an incredible turnout this April! With record numbers never seen before, we grew to over 340 participants and raised $14,000. It was a spectacular Spring day and we enjoyed being with friends-old and new! We had 3 different events. 30 mile bike ride. Family 5k bike ride. 5K fun run. This year we made our event pet friendly and it was awesome to see people enjoy their morning run with their furry family members!! After the events, we listened to music, kids jumped in the inflatable and we enjoyed Jambalya from Danny Robert aka 2012 World Jambalya Champion! Other post race munchables were nachos, fruit and snowballs! As we wrapped up our time together, T-Bob Hebert helped pass out top finisher awards and prize give-aways! Our sponsors were absolutely amazing and we would like everyone to please check them out on our
Sponsors page. We are Difference Makers in our community because we will be able to provide free and/or reduced cost heart screenings for Ascension Parish athletes and we raised awarness in our community about undiagnosed heart conditions! Thank you for your generosity, support and action! These are traits of true Difference Makers!!
2012 Turnout
We had a great turnout last April! We had over 100 individuals run or bike with a single purpose in mind–making a difference and feeding many hungry people in Ascension Parish! We moved our event to Lamar Dixon and fell in love with the space and low traffic routes! The spirit of charity was felt throughout the day. We enjoyed friendly competition, meeting new friends and eating tasty jambalaya! We raised a total of $4,300 and delivered 6,000 canned goods to the Fellowship Center located in Gonzales, LA. What a special day! The Fellowship Center was very thankful and found that their shelves were restocked!
